Run a busy roadside inn where every traveller may bring a story, a secret, or a useful piece of news.
In Inn Common, you manage a tavern and lodging house at the crossing of several trade roads. Guests arrive each day from nearby settlements, looking for food, rest, conversation, and a place to stay. Your job is to keep the inn running while listening carefully to what people say in the common room.
Upgrade guest rooms, improve tables, expand the kitchen, manage the stable, hire staff, serve meals, and build the reputation of your inn. Better service brings more visitors, and more visitors bring more rumours.
Conversation is part of the business. Listen, offer another drink, ask gentle questions, or build trust with regular guests. Some rumours are clear, some are uncertain, and some need confirmation from more than one source. Keep track of everything in your journal, decide what to believe, and choose how each rumour should be used.
Sell information to interested buyers, save it for later, or use it to advance one of several story arcs unfolding around the region. A missing heir, a hidden map, a wandering prophet, tension on the northern road, and strange events in the forest all develop through the choices you make before day 90.
Each guest type has different habits, preferences, generosity, temperament, and willingness to talk. Bards, merchants, pilgrims, hunters, couriers, monks, scouts, travellers, and many others can all change the rhythm of the inn.
As the days pass, weather, local reputation, events, staff choices, menu planning, and room quality all affect who visits and what opportunities appear. Build carefully, listen closely, and turn a simple tap house into a legend of the road.
Inn Common is a narrative management game about running an inn, collecting rumours, serving guests, upgrading your business, and shaping branching regional stories through careful choices.
